Hey everybody, I have a question. I have been having a lot of stomach problems. They found out that my stomach muscles aren't contracting properly and they aren't sure if it's part of the ASS or not, that if my muscle problems that Ihave with my legs and arms could also happen to my stomach muscles. In the mean time I am still in pain and have complete nausea, til they figure it out. Any advice? Natalie

Oh Natalie, sorry to hear that. I have some bowel/stomach problems but I just thought it was the meds, I never even considered the muscle aspect---silly me. That does make alot of sense. I have no advice but wanted to thank you for bringing this up.

Hi Natalie Sorry to hear about the added problems. As if we don't have enough already with this darn ASS. I did some searching on the internet, and myositis can definately affect the stomach muscles. That does not mean that is the problem in your case. but it could be. I hope they are able to figure it out quickly for you. Keep up the good fight. God Bless Wayne

Hi Natalie I have been having the same problems I can go for two weeks without emptying my bowels however oddly since my colonoscopy I have been going daily, I get pain in my upper right abdomen which is there whether i've opened my bowels or not. I've been referred to a motility specialist who I haven't actually seen yet however his colleges say it's most likely due to my illness though they cannot elaborate more. I have to have some other treatment so until this is sorted my bowel problems have been put on hold but if I find out anything I will let you know. Keep in touch Katrina x

Hey everybody, I've had more and more tests and everything going on is related to the ASS , but I still have little answers. I had an esophageal motility. Worst awake procedure to date. I had a lot of issues with it, vomitting repeatedly, and my nose and throat still hurts. They think my esophagus isnt contracting properly AND my sphinctor muscle isnt opening and closing AND my stomach isnt emptying properly.

I understand, This is the most i have went to the Dr. in a long time. The rash just stop spreading and my throat pain is still there and my ears fill like water in them and having trouble hearing along with the vision...One Dr. said he just don't have anymore ideas on what to do! I don't understand that prednisone suppose to make everything better and when it don't they are lost. I started cellcept the funny thing is that i feel better but my symptoms are all over the place. The only thing that i am doing at the moment is drinking hot water with lemon an honey for my throat nothing but greens and salads for my bowel and neither is working lol but make me feel like im doing something. I wish my grandma could make it all better !! until i start the next procedure..All these pilllls I hope somebody will get an answer!! thanks

People with chronic illnesses take a lot of drugs and these drugs often kill the good bacteria in the intestine. We need the good bacteria to have a healthy intestinal tract. Eating a probiotic yogurt daily will replace the good bacteria and help relieve some stomach problems. I am lucky that my doctor combines natural therapy in with his regular treatments. My brother suffered from horrible stomach difficulties for a couple years after he had a pacemaker put in. My doctor told him to start eating yogurt and within a month he was back to normal. It helps. Tips for Living With Myositis

Hey Kat, I just saw your comment on the pain in your upper right abdomen. This may not be what the problem is, but I had to have my gall bladder removed several years ago, and that is where the pain was for it. One sure-fire way that anybody who's had gall bladder problems will tell you that if everything you eat tastes like either sawdust or school paste, then its your gall bladder. Ask for an ultrasound to be done, just to rule that issue out. It can't hurt, but it could help immensely.
