So two days ago I fell on the ice and hurt my leg. The muscle hurts so bad I can't stand and any pressure put on it, even the pressure from sitting on a chair. Does anyone have myositis? Will this injury to my muscle get worse if I don't get this checked? I'm afraid my muscles will atrophy even more.

I have myositis and was in alot of pain a year ago but with the meds I take now it is sooooo much better. I would fall sometime but never on the ice. I don't know what meds you are on currently, but mine are Prednisone, Cellcept and Rituxan infusion. That helped all of my symptoms. WIthout that cocktail of drugs I would be in constant pain and in bed unable to function. Hope you have less pain real soon. Many blessings and healing in 2012 :)

I am also on the same cocktail of meds. I'm just worried that if I hurt my muscles and was unable to get to therapy that they would start to freeze up again.

I always have muscle aches but recently had a bad flare up which has made it hard for me to function. I think stress makes it worse. The pain is mainly the middle of my back and around my right ribs. It worse when I am sitting or lying down, I'm unable to roll over in bed. I have trouble when I first stand to straighten up but once up for an hour or so it eases. I ache in nearly all my joints but this pain is unbearable at times. My neck pain has also got worse and sometimes I'm unable to open my mouth with jaw pain. I have only fallen after taking opiates for pain relief so my consultant gave me a steroid injection the other day and that has really helped. I have also had to take NSAID which isn't really advisable but helps with the pain. I hope you get sorted soon I recommend the injection. I would like more advice on how to manage the pain I hope someone will be able to help. Katrina x
