new thing for me. here goes, iam having werd things now. my skin is peeling off/ cant see it untill it i guess it dries up. its like snow, it started on my face like a thin piece of plastic. doesnt hurt, just peals off, went to my derm. he ask me how long have i had dandruff. i said never. has anyone had this ?

Yes my face was peeling i did not understand never had problems with my skin before.Then i started having a rash from my checks down. But my face started iching really bad.Stop after a month.My scalp ich so bad until i have ball spots. onetouch

I have also got peeling skin. mine though is on arms, legs, torso, some on face..... Almost like after getting a sunburn, but happens pretty much every day. I have been told it can be a side effect of prednisone, of which I take 100 mg / day. It can thin the skin, and make it more susceptible to peeling. I don't get the itchiness with it though, so not too bad I guess. Hopefully it will stop when I can be weened of this med. I hope you have had it checked if it itches. I was told that if that happens, it could be from something else, such as an infection. Hope this helps. God Bless, and take care... Wayne

The cough can also be from being short of breath and not having enough oxygen. Some times I have to turn up my O2 tank on tired days and move slower or I do start up with the coughing. I also cough more on cold mornings and have to wear a scarf over my nose and mouth to warm the air to help make it easier to breathe.

Hi Onetouch. Right now I am doing well with the coughing. I am not on oxygen, but the cold air definately can start a coughing spell. I also make sure to wear a scarf. Winter is getting underway up here (Calgary, Alberta, Canada) and it has been cold already. I believe it is a combination of the prednisone, and the IVIG treatments that are helping so much. I will be doing another IVIG in a week or so, and hope that that will allow me to lower the prednisone. I will let everyone know how that goes. God bless, and keep up the good fight!!

I have the peeling skin on my hands, elbows, knees. I have a dermatitis. I take Plaquenel for it. My skin has improved. I know originally it was thought to be psoriasis. I have had no luck with the topicla treatments. winter is her in Wisconsin and when I am outside I get to coughing because of the cold weather. My lungs are still stable at 68% for the last year. What is working for me is the Azathioprine, NAC, and Plaquenel. My doctors wanted to know if I wanted to back off on my medications at this time and I said no. I am aftraid that if I back off that I will have my lungs starting to decline again. My condition is considered to be in remission. I just love winter here in Wisconsin. My joints are starting to get stiff more often. At work I have a station that I can stand or sit when I am working. I answere phones for Lands End. I also go to the Chiropractor once a week for adjustments. I have her check my whole back. I am usually out all over. This is helping. Hope everyone is doing ok right now.

Just checking on my antisyntheses family hope everyone had a good week. After being out of work for Two years i had two interviews in the same day.Im not sure how i feel about them .Both of them are standing positions for 8hours. One thing that i notice is when i feel good is when people comment on my breathing more.I thought that to be so backwards. The doctor put me on gabapentin to help me sleep. Not working anymore.......but i am so sleepy just cant fall into that good restfull sleep. onetouch
