nanasix,
My heart and prayers go out to you. I've read all your other comments and you are always on my mind.
I can honestly say that I don't think anyone knows what all is connected with the Jo-1 syndrome. I recently had to have shoulder surgery. When I first complained to my doctor(s) about the pain I was having my primary care asked me if it had anything to do with Jo-1. They don't even know. My rheumatologist just wanted to do steroid injections without any imaging, assuming it was part of the Jo-1. I am convinced that I am right when I say there is a reason that what doctors do is called "practice". And when it comes to Jo-1, none of them know what going on, what causes it, or what it is going to do to us.
You keep the faith and I will keep praying for us all.
