Having a 'bronch' & pneumonia

Hello,I've still only been a part of this group and known about my diagnosis for a few weeks. I had a 'bronch', where they look into your lungs, take biopsies and wash it out with saline 3 weeks ago. Ten days after that I became extremely weak, high temp, uncontrollable coughing. Chest x-ray said 'mild' pneumonia. Sure didn't seem mild to me. I finish my antibiotics today. I'm still trying to recover and haven't felt good since I had the procedure. Anyone else have a similar experience? Is pneumonia pretty common with this diagnosis? Thanks

I have had this nastiness for a couple of years and had pneumonia twice. I have not had any type of lung procedures, but do nebulizer 2-4 times per day, Advair and Xoepenex inhalers, Singulair and Claritin tablets. Hope you feel better soon. One thing that is still very hard for me is to slow down. Believe me, you must get plenty of rest.

My husband had pneumonia and bronchitis several times over the past few years before being diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis and AS. The infections came around the March/April timeframe.

Hi Riverturtle, when i first got sick my doctor gave me antibiotics for what she thought was a chest infection. When two courses of antibiotics didn't work, she sent me for a chest xray which showed pneumonia. I then had a bronchoscopy which showed Organising Pneumonia, this has left patches of fibrosis in my lungs, I was incredibly short of breath when this disease started, but my breathing has improved considerably over the past couple of years. I have tried a few different treatments, the one that seems to be working for me so far is Cellcept. I hope you start to feel some improvement soon, take it slowly, the hardest lesson i have had to learn is to pace myself and accept help from those around me, which doesn't come easy for someone as stubborn as me!
