Electrolyte problems

While having an attack, does anyone else know of their electrolytes (namely sodium, potassium, and calcium) going into either hypo or hper types of numbers? We are going to an endro md to figure out why Connor's numbers go in these directions.

I have alot of potassium & calcium problems after an attack as well. Nothing was said about my sodium when I had a major leak in September.

My potassium is huge problem when having an attack, They give me infusion after infusion and I keep losing it, have no idea why, they just keep the bags coming until my episode starts to calm down, really crazy. As a result my calcium, sodium and potassium is always low and I have to take supplements for them, even with supplements hard to stay in theraputic range? I suppose it is part of the syndrome? Hope info helps a little, sometimes no rhyme or reason? Hope and pray Connor is doing better.

Would low potassium cause severe cramps? At the onset of this condition( and ongoing) I get cramps so severe that I vomit. and then black out. I did not have this problem prior to the leaking.I have never had my levels checked

I am on temporary magnesium and iron supplements and get electrolytes measured with every blood test (potassium, etc.). According to my doctor, Terbutyline causes cramping of the muscles by causing the body to eliminate some of these elements at a different rate than normal. Or if not the meds. perhaps something to do with the disease itself ? In any case it seems a good idea to get these checked with regular blood tests ie when one has their Theophyline levels checked as an example. As usual it would be of great help if Dr. Grippe would weigh in on this subject.
