Hello Does anyone know of any patients with Birdshot being treated with IVIG in the UK. My consultant has applied for funding for this drug as I had a toxic reaction to Tacrolimus and being on long term steroids and Cellcept has been causing some adverse effects (I am diabetic). As far as I know the eye hospital I attend has not had any success with funding on this drug. Thanks Mazo

Hi Mazo, I'm a fellow birdshot sufferer in the UK. I suggest you post this question to the Birdshot.org site. It's the site for UK sufferers. Annie and Rea who run it are pretty on the ball and would probably know. Also there is a patients' day at Moorfields eye hospital (London) just for sufferers of the condition on September the 11th. Apologies if you already know about this and the birdshot site Cheers Adrian

Thanks Adrian I emailed Annie last night for them to post today and apparently there is someone in Ireland who is coming to the Patient day so I should be able toget a bit more info then. Just had a letter today from the funding saying they cannot process further until the Immunogloulin Committee have seen the request. It is a long waiting game. Look forward to seeing you on the 11th. Thanks Mazo
