My son definately has the milder form of Dent's at this point. He has fought osteoperosis issues due to dyuretics and steroids, but we have been very adament that he continue to exercise focusing on non contact sports. Tennis, a weight bearing sport, has made a tremendous difference in his quality of life. We have been careful to teach him about proper hydration so that he does not lose fluids too quickly. We live in a fairly hot climate and he has been able to manage hydration and has learned to notice the signs of dehydration while having fun and getting good exercise through tennis. Our drs have been cautious about contact sports, therefore we have strayed away from football and the martial arts.
