Hello, What is everyone doing as therapy for there condition?
I currently take mustard seed oil, on a vegan diet and vitamin supplements.
Also, according to the geneticist, I am the only one to have my specific mutation in the entire genetic database; I wonder if I have a milder version as I have seen lots of improvements through this therapy.
Any thoughts?
I no longer use a cane, my gait is better. On good days, especially in the summer my walking is almost perfect. The winter is harder, however. I also have much better urinary control.
In addition, my mood feels a lot more balanced overall.
What have you been trying?
I have only been diagnsed with AMN a couple of months ago (AMN with no cerebral involvement). So I am trying to find out all I can to manage the problems I will have with my balance and coordination.
Right now I am fine but feeling spasticity in the upper parts of my legs. So far I have been stretching and exercising more and remaining on medicaton Lovastatin and CO Q10.
Where did you learn about this kind of therapy?
I am happy to meet someone from Ontario. I have not found anyone yet.
Mustard seed oil is pretty much the same as lorenzo's oil.
Would I be able to call you to talk?
Dear Mr. Oceanmanstan, I was diagnosed with AMN more than ten years ago. My condition is getting worse... I began to take Methylin to increase the strength of my legs to be able to walk and used a cane to help me walking two years ago. I just read your message and am very encouraged by your experience. I'd like to take mustard seed oil for my condition. Could you let me know how you take the mustard seed oil and where you buy the oil. I am a professor and doing medical research in United States. Can I email you or call you to talk to you? Thank you very much.

*I was diagnosed in '81. I was walking fine until I retired in '97 at age 55. In Oct of '02, I went into a 4-day coma, with sepsis. I am now 68, and Lovostaten has helped with leg-strength; however, if I don't exercise my legs, they get really weak.
