Confusion and memory lapse?

I have AMN, diagnosed in the mid 90s and have been just dealing with Addisons, diagnosed in 89, for a long time and now am starting to develop the walking troubles, neurological troubles etc. Recently I had an episode where I was very confused and couldn't remember the events of earlier in the day. The event only seemed to last for about 5 minutes, with no obvious trigger or physical symptoms, I was alone but on the phone with my fiance. I'm wondering if anyone else with AMN has had anything similar happen? I'm trying to find out if this was related to the AMN or was from something else. Thanks, JL

I have experienced the same kind of episode that you have described since I was about 18 (I am now 36). I was diagnosed with AMN in Jan ’09 so I would say it is anybody’s guess as to whether the two factors are linked. My GP’s opinion is that these bouts are anxiety related, due to the fact that they don’t tend to last that long and when the do they are nearly always associated with recent stressful events etc. The best way to describe these experiences is a kind of temporary amnesia coupled with an irrational sense of panic. The irony for me is that I get them a lot less now than I did when I was 18! I hope this has been helpful, Matt.
