Very interested in hearing whether these supplements have helped your child. Would love to hear about dosages and length of time your child has been on them. We want to start our 14 month on them as soon as possible. Many thanks!

Hi! I'm Silvia, Buenos Aires, Argentina, (Maaian's mom), she is 8 month old. We will start with CoQ10 in a couple of days. She weights 13pounds. The doctor told me that we are starting with 10mg and will increase it slowly. She is having Carnitine since she was borned, and we think that is good for her. As far as Lypoic Acid, we are investigating a little bit more with the doctor. Maaian has 4d(q21.1 q21.3). Please forgive my English. In Argentina CoQ10 is not sold in pharmacies as in USA, they prepare them as required. Who can recommend me a brand in USA? I heard that TruNature and Qunol were the best, do you know if they come in 10mg? Thanks! Silvia

Silvia, I don't think I realized that your kiddo's deletion was just the same as Shiny's deletion. Anyway. Shiny is 35 pounds and has been on 150 mg since she was about 28 pounds. At that rate you'd probably be at closer to 50 mg of CoQ10 for your little one. I'm just concerned that at 10 mg, she won't get much benefit. That said, we've seen very few side effects... just "effects" that are good. Basically my method of dosing is to take weight (in pounds) and multiply by 5 and then round to the easiest dosing near that amount. Shiny will have to be 40 pounds before we go up to 200 mg, but even at 22 pounds and 300 mg, she was doing fine, it just wasn't necessary, and she did just as fine on half the dose... but did not do well eliminating it entirely.

Jenrose: One more question: Which are the benefits you see on Shiny giving her CoQ10?
