Hi Rita,

Systemic lupus erythematosus is a chronic autoimmune inflammatory connective tissue disease that can affect the joints, kidneys, skin, mucous membranes and blood vessel walls. Several factors favoring the onset of the disease have been identified : ultraviolet rays, certain medications, certain viruses, and genetic factors with multiple and well-studied mutations. I am not aware of any scientific publication that specifies the relationship between lupus and SCLS, but it is clearly a hypothesis that raises questions. Claude Pfefferlé Switzerland

Hi Rita and Claude,

I was diagnosed with SCLS last February and started treatment in April.

In July, I was diagnosed with lupus and started treatment. The medical team told me that blood test performed during the month of June show results compatible with lupus (ANA, DNAds, C3 / C4, ENA, Ro). Additionally, I have been experiencing rashes and mouth sores. The hypothesis that it is induced by treatment with IVIG is being considered, if I have correctly understood, since the results were differet some months ago.

I hope this information might be useful.

Best wishes
