Sodium

Dear Community members,

I would like  to ask you, if you have experienced problems with sodium levels. Lately, I am experiencing muscular and articular pain, headache, dizzyness, and need to sleep constantly. Doctors have told me that I am having problems with my sodium levels. It solves relatively quickly, incrementing the intake of salt and decrementing the intake of liquids. It could be very interesting to me to know if there is a direct link with SCLS.

Thanks in advance and my best wishes

I do not recall sodium levels ever being reported as a problem among patients with classic, episodic SCLS, but then, it seems like you may have a case of chronic SCLS, which unfortunately is very difficult to diagnose and treat.

I encourage you to request that your treating physicians at Hospital La Paz request a consultation about your case with Dr. Kirk Druey of the U.S. National Institutes of Health, email kdruey@nih.gov, see https://www.niaid.nih.gov/research/kirk-m-druey-md-0, and also with Dr. Marc Pineton de Chambrun at the Paris Hôpital Pitié-Salpêtrière, email marc.dechambrun@gmail.com, see https://www.aphp.fr/offre-de-soin/medecin/3280725/066/59  These are the world's leading authorities on SCLS, both classic and chronic.

Dear Arturo,

Thank you very much for your response and the info about physicians. I have already pass it to my doctors.

Kind regards
