I am 27, and this winter I have noticed I am unable to stand anymore. I started walking different when I was 20, been using a chair for about 5 years now. I am unsure if it is because of the cold weather, because of the poor circulation. Has anyone experienced this?

Hi Anthony, I am 54 and although I'm not in a wheelchair, cold weather greatly affects me and especially when walking with my cane. I've always wondered myself if is caused by the cold. Were you able to stand in past winters? We have also noticed that the winter months here in Canada have a horrible way of screwing with mobility. There are quite a few topics on just this side effect already posted here. You can look back over the topics in discussion forum and find them. It is definitely not just you.

Yeah the cold makes me much stiffer and therefore it's harder to walk. And our disease is progressive so each winter it may become a little more challenging to get around. What I have found to be most beneficial is daily exercise. The less I move the worst I get, exercise helps me maintain my mobility for sure. Stay strong Anthony.
