Symptoms Tips: Night Sweats Caused by hypoglycemic episode during sleep. Eat a little piece of Swiss Cheese or other slow-burning protein not long before bedtime, so it lasts all night. Pain and Stiffness For short term, temporary use - apply a small amount of Camphor Spirit to areas that are stiff, painful or feel congested. Wipe on like sunscreen. Very small amount. Stimulates the flow of Serous Fluid. "Ice Pick" Headaches. Spray 4-Way Brand Nasal Spray (or any house-brand 1 % Phenylephrine decongestant) into both nostils. Wal-Four is Walgreen's house brand. Hold nose closed, tilt head back a little bit and apply air pressure to the nose and sinuses. Works almost instantly. Can't fall asleep or can't stay asleep. Wear an eye mask and ear plugs to block out all light and all sound - at your head. We are overly sensitive to light and sound. The least amount keeps us from getting to deep restorative sleep. Having a fan or tv may help us get to sleep, but will also keep us from getting to deep sleep. When you get enough good sleep, Restless Leg will stop also. Itchy, burning skin. Very common symptom for Overly Acidic Fibromyalgia. Especially where skin creases or clothes stay in close contact. Very acidic perspiration causes it. Don't wear clothes more than once, especially bras. The acid can be absorbed by the band and build up even worse. Wipe the area with a warm wet washcloth and most of the acid will be removed. Painful bumps on tongue. These are usually inflammed tastebuds - swollen with serous fluid and blood. If that's what it is, dip stainless nail cutters (the type that look like tiny electrical pliers) into alcohol. Looking in the mirror, nip just the enlarged taste bud. It will drain very quickly. As soon as the tastebud empties, the pain stops. We shed thousands of tastebuds constantly. You won't miss this one. Heals faster than a paper cut from an envelope or biting your tongue. or Get your pH up to normal and they will go away on their own. Depression, Anxiety/Panic, Procrastination, Obsession/Compulsion. Some with FMS have a cluster of symptoms caused by our brain's signals not traveling correctly. If you have one of them, and they came with the Fibro, generally you will have all 4. Depression, Anxiety / Panic, Obsession /Compulsion, and Procrastination. Taking a small amount of any good SSRI medication at night works. Night is when our bodies do maintenance. Walking or eating chocolate also stimulate serotonin. 5-HTP is an over the counter product that may work very well for you.

What a great post! Is there any way you can add these to the community tips section as well?

Sure, David. I see the Community Resources page, so will put it there. Read your profile; good to know you. Annie

Thanks Annie! You may also want to add it under the community details page at the bottom where it says "tips". I added the first one as an example. David

They could also go under symptoms. Just added an example one from your list there as well.

There is a complete list of Symptoms. I'll post it. It clarifies the nature of FMS.

Thanks! I was going through that list earlier, but ran out of time to complete it this evening. You may want to just start where I left off…

I'd just leave it in a long list.

Anne ~ WOW great post! I have a lot of the symptoms list, not all but most. One thing that did catch my eye was about being overly acidic. I have had thyroid cancer so, I just chalked up the sweat stains to being on medication. I also went to your blog and saw you post on Thyroid and the link to Fibro. Prior to the doctors finding the thyroid cancer, my thyroid levels were always "low-normal" (about as low-normal as you can get). The tests didn't start until after my last child was born 10 years ago, that is when all of the trouble started. My thyroid had always been low my normal body temp has always been 97.6, I just really never had the hypothyroid symptoms until 10 years ago. Anyway, I have been working on a post for my blog about Thyroid and the under treating. Would you mind if I put a link to your post on the Thyroid - Fibro connection? Mandy

wow I can't believe I"ve never seen this anywhere else online. GREAT tips! I was particularly thrilled that I might be able to do something about that hateful burning itchy skin thing. Any other tips on that? It's really annoying for me. I'm always so HOT :( As you had indicated it was ok to share this resource, it can be found on my site under coping tips. Thanks so much! www.livingwithfibromyalgia.ca
