Hi! Iam still fairly new to this forum and have had only one episode. Since that episode, my joints have been stiff and painful, particularly if I am in one position for an extended period of time. I was just wondering if this is common? Thanks!

Hi! The closest reported symptoms to what you describe is myalgia. Muscles become painful for one of a few reasons such as auto immune disorder, compartment sydrome, or a reaction to the medication. Joint pain per se is not commonly reported. Is the pain associated with fluid swelling of the joints? Do your joints get hot? These are the sort of questions your physician will want to know. The painful stiffening of joints happens in many conditions especially after rest, because fluid accumulates in the joint and is underbtension. Then movement 'pumps' fluid out of a swollen joint. It is important for you to work this out as it may open up new lines of treatment for your condition. John

My hand get extremely warm and burn. Sometimes they turn red too. 90% of the day they are freezing cold as I did not have circulation at all.

Sorry I typed the wrong button and said your message was inappropriate which it totally isn't. In response to ValeriaSpain's comment about having hot painful hands. I've experienced the same symptoms but it also affects my feet and knees. Drs think it could be one of a handful of autoimmune conditions, including raynaud syndrome or erythromelalgia. There is a family history of erythromelalgia so they think that's the most likely think for me. But hopefully your doctors can help diagnosis and treat whatever symptoms you've been experiencing. Also there's a dermatology website http://www.dermnetnz.org/ provides a lot of information on dermatology and immulogical conditions that might be of assistance to you.
