Anne,
I'm very saddened to hear about your new diagnosis, and I wish you complete success with your treatment regimen.
Because many myeloma patients as well as SCLS patients have a monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) in their blood, it is important that our doctors be vigilant about our MGUS levels, and that they order the lab test that will measure it at least once a year.
Because an increasing level of MGUS may be indicating the onset of multiple myeloma, and as the case with every cancer, it is best to catch it early, monitoring of our MGUS levels should be a routine part of our check-ups.
I recommend that everybody in the SCLS community should discuss this matter with their doctors.
