Hello Fellow LGLLers - This test is being ordered for me for my May 1st bone marrow biopsy. Although it is my 8th BMB, I have never had this test before. All previous BMB's just looked at 20 genes and the FoundationOne HEME panel sequencing 1 panel looks at 405 genes (for $7,200) most covered by insurance and hospital. It is a tool used to help identify any further illnesses down the road or “smoldering genes”/recommended treatments. As LGLL can acquire other illnesses and other leukemias, such as AML, PNH, AA, MDS, etc. It also checks to see if you are STAT3 or STAT5 positive, as approximately 40% of LGLL patients are. We have more information and support in our LGL Leukemia Support Group on Facebook.https://www.facebook.com/groups/LGLLeukemiaFOUNDATIONSupportGroup http://www.foundationone.com Best wishes, Tina Cancio | LGL Leukemia FOUNDATION Rare Genomic Institute | RareShare Community Leader
