I am thinking of going back to my dentist to get my mercury fillings removed and replace with porcelain or the like. I am wondering that because I am only a couple months into this disease on very high doses of prednisone and cyclophosphamide with CK's still in the 1000's and experiencing many and varied symptoms of the disease daily. Is it a good idea to get anesthetic and have someone hack into my gums and teeth or should I wait until things settle down?

Hi Lildreamer. I would bring this up with your doctor. Due to the fact you are still on very high doses of prednisone, and the cyclophosphamide, I would be careful. You are now immunosuppressed, and even minor chances of infection can have major implications. You may be better off waiting until you can lower your meds and stabilize a little more. God Bless and Keep Up The Good fight. Wayne

Cheers mate. I thought along those lines too, would be rather risky.
