How many of you have successfully been approved for Disability in the US? What did you find that helped your case? If you are in the process of applying/appealing, how long has that been going on?

As I have read elsewhere, pulmonary fibrosis was added to the social security's compassionate allowance (if that is the correct terminology) I believe this may lead to a faster case review but I do not have first hand experience with this.

I hadn't heard that update. If that is the case, it's great news!!

Hi Mp. Was on a government site. Www.ssa.gov. Had all the information regarding social security disability. From what I read, things are very much the same as here in Canada. It gives the definitions of acceptable disability. I think as long as you have a good doctor who is willing to fill out the required forms, you should have no problem getting it, although it may take them time to do the paperwork..you know how governments work. I sure hope they can you (your husband) on it, and hopefully in a timely manner. This is hard enough to deal with without the added burden of financial stress. Wayne
