Hello! Just wondering if anyone has tried Botox? I've had injections in my calf and feet a couple of times, with much success. Also, any specific dietary suggestions that you've found helpful? Thanks!

I haven't heard that. What have you experienced with botox?

It has really worked to loosen the muscles in my calf, and allows my feet to sit in a more natural postion. After botox, my gait is not as awkward, and feet don't drag as often. The reach of a forward step is increased, meaning overall fluidity. It's pretty painful, they inject it directly into your muscle, but well worth it!

Just got word from my doctor that the treatment has been approved by my insurance so hopefully I will be getting it done in the next week or two. How long afterward did it take for you to see a difference? Website answers seem to vary. How was your balance before the botox and afterward? Mine isn't great so I use a cane to walk comfortably but otherwise the symptoms that you said got better are the problems that I currently experience. Also what level of pain did you have in your lower legs and did that improve? If anyone else has any questions for me please feel free to ask.

Our son, who was wheelchair bound and had great difficulty with pain, found that Botox was very useful. Very expensive (insurance help was minimal) but very useful.

Got the Botox shots done about 2 weeks ago. What a difference. The amount of pain relief is amazing. Probably about 75% less pain in my lower legs. I still use a cane because of the balance issue but my calves are so much more relaxed that it is much easier to walk again.
