I wanted to let everyone know that I was diagnosed with myosotis antisynthetase syndrome about 3 years ago.
After treatment of prednisone and cell cept for over a year I really started to feel much better. My lung function increased and I was able to walk without oxygen.
Last august I started to feel worse. I saw my doctor here in Tulsa and they thought it might be an infection. She spoke to my doctor in Dallas and they ordered a ct scan. The scan showed some increased consolidation in mylower left lung. I was put on zpac but did not get better.
I saw my dr in Dallas in January and she decided that i should have a biopsy to be sure. My doctor here decided to do a broctoscopy first and those results were negative. No fungus, no bacteria, no cancer. They then scheduled me for the lung biopsy. Sad to report it came back malignant.
I have since had pet scans, ct scans, oft tests and they are trying to determine if my difusion is high enough to have a lobectomy or if they will do radiation and chemo.
I also had biopsies of my lymph nodes in the lungs but it had not spread.
In the meantime I am very short of breath and have developed a cough.
I will post more after my appointments this week. They said that
since my lungs have been monitored so closely I was lucky to have caught this early
