Anyone out there have Sjogrens AND LGL? I posted this same question a while back and no response. Recent research has shown a connection between the two-I have this mix myself. Thanks!

Hello, smurf52. My mother has lgl; her brother died of lmphyocytic lymphoma. My numbers are on the lower end of normal, so I am watching and waiting. I have experienced unexplained facial pain and headaches over the past 8/9 months. Lots of tests; no answers. Recently, my neuro. had me tested for Sjogrens. I was told that test came back negative. I report this to you only because of the oddity of the correlation of (or the possibility of the correlation of) of these two conditions. Best

a few years ago now, my husband was diagnosed with (aggressive onset) RA, then Felty's Syndrome, and then LGL. On his father's side there's a lot of autoimmune diseases, and his uncle has Sjogren's among other things. My husband is the only one of them with LGL. Autoimmune diseases do seem to run in families, and often co-occur with LGL. @Jenny, I have not heard of Sjogren's being associated with facial pain and headaches

Sjogrens is a lot more then dryness, it can attack glands, joints, liver, kidney, it can cause GI issues. migraines, sinus infections, TMJ, the list goes on and on. Severe fatigue too. So my fatigue is really bad because of the LGL and the Sjogrens together. My Rheumy and my hemotology/oncologist work together on this. There is new research in Europe connecting the two illnesses. So far no MTX for me yet, just Plaquenil.

Yes sjogren and lgl leukemia asso. Are described in med. Lit. As early as 1988. It is a well known combination but apparently no one on this forum has presented with both. The one study in 1988 mentioned a female who did well long term so I would take this as an optimist indicator. There is another forum for lgl on facebook and maybe someone there is like you with both diagnoses. Tina s.
