Hi everyone I finally saw my motility specialist a few weeks ago. He feels sure that my problems are related to my illness. He said that parts of the bowel just stop working. Normal laxatives just irritate the bowel lining or add bulk giving the bowel more to contend with. Neither help the redundant bowel to start working again. He has started me on a new drug called Procalopride which actually works on the stomach muscle making it contract. It's been marvellous it was normal for me to go once a week the longest being over 2 weeks. I now go on average twice a day normally without diarrhoea. It's early days but I will keep you posted on my progress as it is a new drug and has to be started by a consultant. I hope this is good news to Natalie. Katrina x
