Surgical options?

Hi there, I have M.E.D that is mainly effecting my hips. Just recently I have been told that I will be needing a Total Hip Replacement. I am only 24 years old and the doctors have told me that my first hip replacement will only last 15 years if I look after it, then the next will last about half that time. Once they all wear out I will be stuck in a wheelchair. I'm curious to know if anyone knows of any other options out there that might work for me? I look forward to everyone's contributions.

Are you still on here? My son just turned 20 and has just had first hip replacement. He is already in a wheelchair for any distances. I don't think you will be stuck in a wheelchair if you have hip replacements so don't get alarmed.
