massively enlarged spleen

Anyone having to deal with sudden massively enlarged spleen? (24 cm) I've lost 25 lbs due to lack of appetite, nausea, etc. Been on Prednisone to try to shrink it which it has (down to 20 cm) but the spleen is more painful all along the back and front of my ribcage. I'm afraid to have it removed but, on the other hand, I'm afraid of it rupturing. Also dealing with low platelets and of course low nets. Taking nepogen injections to keep ANC up. Any information or experience will be helpful.

hi sking i was prescribed nuepogen shots 3 times a week and they worked a treat until I started getting spleen pain. The shots were reduced to twice a week and then once week and my bloods stayed up. Unfortunately my spleen did as well! After a ct scan showed my spleen to be 16cms I was taken off the neupogen(enlarged spleen is a rare but worryiing side effect of neupogen) After a couple of weeks the pain subsided and I am now on Methetrexate 15 mgs a week my bloods are acceptable at the moment although I do get the odd twinge still from my spleen mainly when I have been gardening or carrying something heavy I dont think your spleen ever returns to normal size.
