I also have a lot of the same symptoms.Like Meggie i have to reposition to cut off the circulation so the numb pain stops.I also have a sliding hiatal hernia.You feel so all alone until you see others describing the same symptoms.Thank goodness,there is a place to connect.Recently my heart has started to do a drum roll when i need something for pain.When i had surgery they found severe arthritis in my neck.So severe i can not be intubated without special equipment and i was told eventually it will inhibit my breathing and or swallowing.Nothing was noted before the surgery about this.So keeping your head up may be the start of arthritis.Keep the faith.

Is it normal to have to shake your arms and hands every night upon waking several times? My mom said when she was younger she had her arms fall asleep and go completely numb but now that she is older she never has that problem.. that is puzzling to me. My father, on the other hand, still and always has had that problem just like me.
